Chicago Surplus Computer provides data destruction in 3 forms.
- The most common is a hard drive wipe. We perform a seven pass data wipe in accordance with DoD 5220.22-M. By using this process all information is removed from hard drive and unrecoverable.
- For added security, we can degauss all hard drives, which make the drives useless. This process is only performed upon request.
- Finally, we also have the capability of shredding hard drives and if needed this process is also performed only upon request.
Please be sure to let us know which method you wish for us to use on your hard drives. Please remember that there will be a charge for degaussing and shredding of hard drives.
